Organization Overview:
Kipekee is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the autism community through the development, maintenance, and dissemination of high-quality resources and community building. As an Associate, you would support operational, administrative, and growth-focused initiatives. This role is responsible for resource management, board coordination, communications, research, and activities that contribute to Kipekee’s sustainability, visibility, and strategic growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and regularly audit the Kipekee’s database of autism resources to ensure accuracy, relevance, and availability.

  • Research, evaluate, and add new autism-related resources to the Kipekee’s website.

  • Manage and publish content on social media platforms to increase awareness, engagement, and use of organizational resources.

  • Draft, edit, and disseminate monthly newsletters to stakeholders and community members

  • Attend Board of Directors meetings, record accurate meeting minutes, and distribute finalized notes.

  • Prepare and edit presentation and slide materials for bi-weekly support group meetings as well as quarterly board meetings. 

  • Schedule and coordinate board meetings (virtual and in-person), interviews, and other organizational meetings.

  • Research grant opportunities and support grant development efforts.

  • Identify potential speaking engagements, partnerships, and collaboration opportunities aligned with organizational goals.

  • Track and organize prospective funders, partners, conferences and outreach efforts.

  • Support initiatives to expand the organization’s reach, improve resource accessibility, and strengthen community engagement.

  • Provide general administrative and operational support as needed.

  • Attend and facilitate bi-weekly Meetup sessions and send out follow up emails to newsletter subscribers. 

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills

  • Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a professional environment

  • Experience with scheduling, documentation, and database maintenance

  • Familiarity with social media platforms and online content management

  • Strong research and analytical skills

  • Interest in nonprofit growth, sustainability, and mission-driven work; experience in autism-related or nonprofit work preferred

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with board members and leadership

Compensation

  • This position is compensated at $25–$30 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Expected Hours

  • This is a part-time position, requiring approximately 2 hours per week. Hours may vary based on organizational needs, including occasional evening or weekend commitments for board meetings or events.

Contract Term and Tax Status

  • This position is a six (6) month independent contractor engagement, with the possibility of extension based on organizational needs, performance, and available funding. The Associate will be classified as an independent contractor and is responsible for all applicable federal, state, and local taxes. Kipekee will not withhold taxes or provide employment benefits.
